...Several.

On my way home this evening with a bulging wallet (yeah, right ) I remembered the lack of cider at home, so I stopped off at Sainsbury's, it's only a mile detour, to pick up a couple of bottles as they're 20p cheaper than the Co-op in the village and a full £1.10 cheaper than Spar. I also bought my dinner for tonight and tomorrow - Beef Canelloni, 2 for £3. Bargain.

As I wandered down the aisle toward the checkouts, I suddenly thought of a couple of hard-up pensioners who have been reduced to drinking anything that is alcoholic at home, even if they're not too keen on it. There's now no wine, no lager and no bitter left in the house. So I bought my parents a litre of Famous Grouse.

They've now gone to bed after polishing off half of it.

I'm in their good books.

For the moment.
