Now There's Something I Don't Often Do!

Staff Day tomorrow, the monthly one with all the meetings. Standard levels of boredom will be lifted, though as before the meetings the Big Boss from London is coming to see us, and we will have the "Class 3B, 2008" style formal photo out on the lawn. I'll have to see if I can dig out a semi-decent tie, I haven't worn one of those for about four years!
Then there will be the fun and games of seeing me trying to squirm out of lunch with the Boss (curly sandwiches and orange juice, anyone?) in order to either do some shopping or disappear down to the pub.

Started clearing up my desk. I never knew I had so many copies of Rock'n'Reel and Mixmag!
Looks half decent, now. Just got to clear the boxes out from underneath (possible fill one of them with all my CDs to bring home - I'm not going to make that mistake again!)

Oh, you're a Mixmag reader, are you? I used to buy it every month for quite a few years, but the last one I got must have been about 18 months ago. Is it still good?

  I wouldn't say I was a reader, I normally only buy it for the free CD just to see if there's anything I like on it. I've come across a few gems that way, but sometimes it's like wading through mud. Occasionally if they do an article on any artist that has tweaked my attention, I'll have a quick look, but otherwise it goes onto a pile on my desk and stays there, untouched, for months.

    I used to like the free CDs too. I reckon I must have about 40 or 50 of them and they still get played occasionally. I went off it because it got very samey. Every 6 months ago the same articles would come round again and the only thing left was the new music and even that was getting samey. 1995-2001 was a huge boom time for dance music and from 2001-2005 it badly lost it's way. It's looking good again now though. I've heard some great minimal techno recently, drum and bass is stronger than it's been for 10 years and dubstep is sounding good too.

      Looks like I'll have to start buying it again, then. I haven't gone out of my way to get it for a while, much like yourself.
