Yes, it's May. And tonight I've seen my first Maybug (cockchafer) of the year twatting itself against the light in the porch of the pub. So for the next couple of months people of all ages and genders are going to be ducking out of the way of these idiot things as the get drawn inexorably toward the lights.
No matter how often you tell people that they don't bite or sting, they'd rather share a room with Pol Pot than be within a hundred yards of one of these little beauties of little brain.
I actually quite like them.
