I've just heard a rumour about my favourite pub in this hell-hole town. The refurb is almost complete and apparently it looks "very different and very nice". I hope this does not mean what I think it means - that they've ripped out the essential country-pub-in-town feel to replace it with a town-centre-pub-trying-too-hard-to-impress feel. I've got a gut feeling that I'll be disappointed. We shall see on Tuesday, because after midday today I have no intention of coming back to this gods-forsaken shit-pit over Easter.
